Routine maintenance and repair works of marine engines, the importation of which had been restricted, were of great importance for a long time. Therefore in Istanbul, and especially on the Asian coast of the city, were upbrought some talented masters, the skills and perfections of whom were highly trusted by motor owners. These masters are known to have performed their works in workshops of primitive conditions, compared to those of today with advanced technical facilities. Master Kosta’s Motor Repair Shop in Rahmi M. Koç Museum is the renovated version of the workshop which was once run by Konstantin Ananyadis, who was born in İstanbul in 1927 and still lives in Halki Island. It will present a unique experience to those who have never seen such a workshop before, and revive beautiful feelings and memories in others who have been kept away from it for a long time.
