The Dewoitine D. 500

The Dewoitine D. 500 joined the French Air Force in 1935, and was its first modern all-metal monoplane fighter, with a top speed of 223 mph (359 kph). A total of 308 D.500s were made, but the type was soon obsolete and was withdrawn by 1941. This model was owned by the late Commander of the Turkish Air Force, General Mehmet Zeki Doğan, and was donated in 2004 by his daughter, Ms. Ünal Doğan.
