This splendid wooden four-bladed propeller was made by Hispano-Suiza and fitted to a British fighter called the S.E. 5 (Scout Experimental 5). This aircraft, in later S.E. 5a guise, became one of the most successful Allied fighters of the war, used by the British, American and Canadian air forces.
