Marine Steam Engine

This fine triple-expansion steam engine was the starboard main engine of the Bosphorus ferry boat Kalender. The Kalender was built by Hawthorn, Leslie and Co. Ltd. of Newcastle upon Tyne for the Şirket-i Hayriye Company in 1911. She gave many years of service for this and succeeding maritime administrations before being decommissioned and scrapped more than 70 years later.
