We are more than just a static museum: our aim is
to make your visit with us as active, interactive and enjoyable
as possible. In addition to our wonderful range of exhibits,
we have a series of weekend activities (see opposite) to intrigue
young and old alike: and when you feel the need to take a break

Museum Shop

A wide range of gifts and objects related to the Museum and its surroundings
are offered. We have something for everyone: pencils, postcards and
key rings at pocket-money prices, quality souvenirs such as leather
wallets and İznik pottery plates, and a range of books and models
reflecting actual exhibits in the Museum. Much is unique to the Rahmi
M Koç Museum, proudly displaying our bicycle logo or using original
artwork commissioned by us. And, as with all aspects of the Museum,
the prices are modest indeed! |

Museum Tearoom

For
a light snack in the middle of your tour, the charming Museum Tearoom
is ideal. Sandwiches, snacks and a wide range of teas and coffees , and a wide range of teas and
coffees are all available during opening hours. The tearoom looks
out onto the bustling car gallery and is beautifully decorated with
a magnificent collection of antique teapots and china. |

Halat Restaurant

This
beautiful restaurant offers a real gourmet experience on the shores
of the historic Golden Horn. Operated by the same management and chef
as the famous Café du Levant (itself situated just opposite the Lengerhane
building), Halat serves outstanding Mediterranean food, complemented
by a wide choice of local and imported wines. For a magical experience,
come for a summer dinner on the waterfront terrace and listen to the
myriad muezzins' calls to prayer echoing all around the Golden Horn… |

Barbarossa Pub

A
lovingly re-created English Pub, designed by a leading British pub
expert and furnished with authentic antiques from the personal collection
of Mr Rahmi Koç, the Barbarossa is a very special place. The fully-stocked
bar and professional barman, together with bar food from the Halat
Restaurant make every visit here a delight. Bring a few friends and

Café du Levant, nestling in the grounds of the Lengerhane, continues
to serve the finest French cuisine in an authentically Parisian brasserie

Meet a real tram driver and find out about
life on the trams in the olden days (Railway department)
Tie yourself in knots with our rope and knot
expert (Maritime department)

Take a nostalgic ride on our very own narrow-gauge railway along the shores of the Golden Horn (from the railway station, between the outside display area and the Golden Horn). Trains depart every hour on the hour, and journeys are free of charge - though please book a place and get a ticket from reception first.
Have your kids ride our historical carousel and see how much fun they can have.
Sit in a real classic car or aircraft
and try out the controls. (Hands-On, upper floor).

Check out two contrasting approaches to personal, environmentally-conscious transportation. Our two-wheeled Segway 'Ginger' and three-wheeled Sinclair C5 electric vehicles are demonstrated in the Erdoğan Gönül Gallery at 14:00 and 16:00 every Saturday and Sunday. Ask nicely and you might be given a chance to try the Segway for yourself!
