ATATÜRK COLLECTION

The collection which includes personal belongings from costumes to official equipment, all related to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (1881-1938), Founder and first President of the Republic of Turkey.


They were mostly assembled by Colonel Halil Nuri Yurdakul, who played a distinguished role in the War of Independence and later became a close friend and colleague Atatürk. Kindly donated by Prof. Yurdakul Yurdakul and Ms. Ayşe Acatay Yurdakul.


This section also hosts signed photos of Atatürk temporarily loaned by Ms. Güzide Kılıç, the daughter-in-law of Mr. Kılıç Ali.


The collection is enriched by rare press coverage photos, first stamps printed after the foundation of the Republic, propaganda postcards from the pre Independence War period.

Also some souvenir objects reflecting the 1920s period of Turkey are on display.
